Online group therapy is for those who are looking for support with the emotions that come with ADHD from both your therapist and a like minded peer group. Each group will consist of a maximum of 8 clients and will run weekly for 10 consecutive weeks. Each week you will come to understand ADHD more, understand yourselves more and be introduced to new therapy techniques. A variety of psychotherapies will be used including REBT (Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy), ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) CFT (Compassion Focused Therapy) and Mindfulness. You’ll be taught healthy coping strategies, coaching tips and tricks, as well as be adopting new habits and routines. You will be shown that what you have always thought was impossible, is in fact possible.
You will also learn about the role that sleep, nutrition and exercise play in managing ADHD symptoms and discover easy, stress-free ways to improve them. During group therapy sessions, you will also get to know your peers during interactive sessions which will use a mixture of presentation modes, videos, talks, and group discussions and one-on-one discussions. You will also have the opportunity to discuss problems affecting you in the group and benefit from hearing others do the same. Each week will build on the next, with achievable work set in between sessions for maximum results. You will also have access to online group discussions between sessions too to help motivate each other.
By the end of the course you will have a document detailing what your ADHD means to you. It will contain your strengths and your weaknesses. This will be useful when explaining what ADHD means for you to friends, family and significant others, as well as being invaluable when speaking with employers about reasonable adjustments.
